Searching For A Cellphone Number
Greg is a financial consultant in one of the biggest banks in the country. Because the job required a lot of traveling, management decided to issue the executive a cellphone for free. This made the person mobile and easily accessible.
While attending a conference, the president instructed Greg to meet a very important person. This man was the one of the biggest cattle dealers in the mid-West that wanted the best to help expand the business.
The two men talked for three hours in the hotel’s lobby. This continued on until dinner and after the meeting, Greg had to discuss the proposal with management and promised to give feedback in the next few days. These two exchanged calling cards then left.
A week after that first encounter, Greg prepared the report and presented the proposal to management. The numbers sounded good and the president instantly approved it. To make sure everything will proceed as planned, the head decided appointed the financial consultant to spearhead the project.
Pleased with the decision of the board, Greg decided to call the entrepreneur immediately to express the good news. Unfortunately, there was one problem. The executive didn’t know where the calling card was and in trouble.
When people are looking for the number of a business establishment, many will either look in the directory or ask the help of an operator. This is very different when looking for a cellphone number especially when there aren’t yellow pages that show the contact details of the subscriber.
There are more than 10 million cellphone subscribers and a dozen service providers in the United States, which just goes to show how difficult it is to look for the number of one person.
Let’s say the individual knows the service provider and the name of the subscriber, will it be possible then to get the number? The answer is no because there isn’t enough manpower for this sort of thing and due to security issues.
If the cellphone number of the person happens to be work related, the person should check the roller deck or the list of calling cards on the desk. This will be much easier if the two spoke using a cellphone. One can try scanning the list of received calls to see if it is still there.
Unfortunately, Greg and the businessman never spoke on the cellphone. It was just one meeting in the hotel lobby that extended until dinner. It was a good thing that this executive remembered the company name so the secretary did not have a hard time looking for the number.
Within minutes, Greg was able to relay the good news and the next meeting with these two men was scheduled the following week. This just proves it is better to have the contact details of colleagues and clients in order so that incidents like this can be avoided.
The search for that particular cellphone number can happen to just about anyone. If the individual knows others who have the contact details of that person, one should not hesitate to ask.
What lessons can one learn in the search of one cellphone number? The user should save the details in the unit at once when the other person gives it. If a calling card is given, this should be stored in a familiar place so that this will not jeopardize closing a multi-million dollar deal.
